Hello to the deviantART community! I would just like to formally introduce myself. I hail from the Central Valley in California (the Fresno area, to be exact). I'm a newly-finished (for now) student of web & graphic design, and I am belly flopping into the great ocean of art and design. One main reason why I'm here is to network and make friends here. I must say that this community has some of the most talented artists I've ever seen.

I've actually been a member here for several years under a different account name, but it didn't sound very professional, and I REALLY hated the name, so I decided to create a new one with a more professional name that I will be focusing on (I understand that one can have up to 3 free accounts. If not...oh well. I just lost my faves....).

I was very impressed by much of the artwork here and hoped that one day I would be able to do work like them. Well, I kind of can now. As I previously stated, I finished a course a few weeks ago in web & graphic design, mainly learning the programs used for them and techniques thereof. Primarily: Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Flash, & Dreamweaver. I've also studied a little bit of XHTML & CSS (very cool) when I was designing my personal website (will provide a link as soon as I figure out how). I must say that I am still an extreme newbie at them; there is always more to learn. My goal here is partially to have a second location to showcase my professional portfolio, but mostly a general place to put ANY future work that wouldn't belong in a professional design portfolio.

My true love actually resides in 3D; specifically those that appear in movies and games. I've delved into it a little bit on my own, playing around with figure manipulation mostly using DAZ Studio & Poser. I hope to have some art made from those on here soon. I've briefly tried my hand at Maya a few years back, but life got in the way. My plan is to attend a specialized 3D graphics school or, personally, game design school, but it would be a big change, as most of them seem to be down in Southern California and would require a huge move (not like I have a whole lot of crap to move).

Anyway, I would just like to say "hello" once again and hope to meet other fellow deviants here. Over the coming days, I will post my work that I did in class, which doubles as my professional portfolio. As for general art, well, heh..., I'm kind of lazy like that and may be sporadic....skill depending.

One final note: I hope to get major help and understanding with contracts, copyrights, fair-use, etc. It's something that thoroughly confuses me, no matter how many times my teachers explained them. I hope anyone with any legal sense of mind can help me out in these respects.
